I finished my first 30K long run yesterday in 4 hours. It's my PR in long run.
I love free thinking during the long run.
Some of my thoughts I got yesterday.
After I finished the 21K distance, I told myself, every step/meter is a new PR for myself. That encourages me keep going and going to finish my first 30K.
I apprehend that "the real marathon starts after 30K". It is so true. In the last loop (27-30k), I feel my legs are so heavy.
I was practicing some running skills I learned from book. Touch the ground first with heel and run tenderly. That seems useful to alleviate the pain of my knee.
I didn't get much trouble with my injured left knee. There are couple of reasons.
1) I started slow, by running together with my wife.
2) I sketch and break a lot than before, at least twice in a loop.
3) my new shoes Asics 2130 helps.
Some points should be kept in mind.
1) Have enough carb before.
2) Take enough Gel during the long run.
3) Long sleeve is better than a short sleeve during the Spring. The last hour was cold around 6pm yesterday.
I thought about some personal goals that are achievable for me.
1) finish a marathon.
2) climb the mountain Everest.
3) visit Antarctica.
4) setup a foundation.
5) write a novel.
