cardio core boot camp

I've attended the bootcamp twice this week. Feel exhausted but excited.
It's better to go training with professional. Our coach is a very fit lady coming from military family of Russia.

Squat, bonny jump, push-up, a lot of different items were used in the bootcamp. Although I feel that I can hardly move after the one hour session, I am still trying my best to accomplish every task.

The night after the first session is really a challenge. I can hardly fall asleep as my whole body is so sore, especially my abdomen and back.

Anyway, keep up man!

A brief report of North American ZJU Alumni 31st Conference

I attended the 31st annual conference of North American ZJU Alumni Association held in Seattle on Sep. 1st, 2007.
More than 50 alumni coming from all around the North America gathered together at Marriott hotel in a beautiful sunny day.
Some graduated from ZJU in recent years, and some are celebrating their 60 anniversary of graduation!

We sang the song of ZJU at first. Then, president of the alumni association reported the 110 anniversary celebration party in ZJU, reviewed the history of the alumni association, and presented their last year's trip of "Return to The West Journey of ZJU".
Alumni reported alumni gathering in different areas, gave presentation on career development, on how to write business plan, and presented research result of cutting-edge technology.
We also watched the DVD of performance in the 110 anniversary celebration party.

Five alumni including me from Vancouver, BC attended the conference.
It's really a wonderful opportunity to meet other alumni and to talk about our beloved mother-university.

Mastering Landscape Photography

Studied the "Mastering Landscape Photography", I'd like to put some notes here.

Landscape photography

* Depth
* Foreground and Background relationship
* Converging Lines

* Rules of Composition
* The Rule of Thirds. Dividing the image into 3 parts, the dominant subject matter in the photograph is placed one third up or down the image, or one third from the left or right side of the image.

* The Golden Rule. The most important area of an image is located near the bottom right corner of the image, roughly one fourth of the image height up and one forth of the image width to the left.

* Leading Lines. Lines leading the eye into the composition, and thus into the image, are another classical way to compose a photograph.

* Perspective.

* Framing the Photograph.

* Lens
* Wide-angle lenses create the most dynamic compositions.
* The normal lenses may be used to create a more subdued, less dynamic, and less exaggerated perspective.
* The small landscape. Telephoto vies surprise us because they show so many more details than we can see with our naked eyes.

* Light
* Sunrise and Sunset - The Best Light
* Reflected Light: Soft and even.
* Overcast Light: Soft, diffused light.
* Open Shade. Soft, diffused light with very low contrast.
* Backlight. Rim of light around the edges of the subject.
* Directlight. Harsh and intense.
* Morning and evening horizontal light. Soft, enveloping light that is pleasing to the eye.

* Exposure
* Exposing to the Right
* Bracket
